SCAS, South Carolina Academy of Science, provides a venue for undergraduate and graduate students to present their research. (NOTE: only undergraduate research is judged). SCAS (also called the senior academy) provides the opportunity for students to present through oral presentation or poster presentation and judges are needed for both of these types of presentations.
SCJAS, South Carolina Junior Academy of Science, provides a venue for high school students to present their research. SCJAS (also called the junior academy) provides the opportunity for students to submit a written research paper and/or give an oral presentation. Judges are needed for both reviewing the written submission before the meeting and the oral presentations at the meeting.

In addition to judging on the day of the conference, written research papers are submitted by high school students and need to be reviewed/judged prior to the meeting. Papers are received in early February and will be distributed to judges by February 15 with judging instructions and will need to be evaluated and results submitted by March 15th.
