Students in the Kaleidoscope & Telescope programs may have the opportunity to use one of the Furman University computer labs as part of their academic enrichment experience. The classes offered will be taught by a certified teacher covering various topics and utilizing creative writing, illustrating original stories or producing a PowerPoint presentation.
Electronic teaching and learning tools and online access are designed to support the class activity. For example, conducting research or selecting illustrations may involve use of the internet.
Students/campers are expected to adhere to the following rules:
1. Treat computer equipment with care and respect.
2. Do not take any food or liquids into the computer lab.
3. Any written text, graphics or files created, downloaded, displayed, or exchanged with another student or teacher must be education-related and not offensive in any way.
4. Do not use Furman University computers for illegal activities such as planting viruses or hacking.
5. Follow copyright laws at all times. If you have questions about the legality of using software, text, graphics, or music online, ask your teachers for guidance.
6. Do not give out personal information on the Internet. Never give out your phone number, social security number, full name, age, home address, or any other personal information. *
